This full-day (≈7 hours) guided motorcycle experience from Nairobi heads through Kiserian to Kona Baridi at the base of Ngong Hills, offering cool air and sweeping Rift Valley views, followed by an authentic Masai cultural visit hosted by Maasai Chief Emmanuel. The ride continues with a Nyama Choma stop, then ascends to the highest point of Ngong Hills (≈2,480m) for breathtaking panoramic views over Nairobi before returning. This is a great tour with its combining scenic riding, culture, and cuisine in one compact adventure.

Day 1 - Nairobi - Ngong Hills

Starting from Nairobi, we head out on a scenic route covering approximately 96 km, riding through the outskirts towards Kiserian and onward to Kona Baridi, where you’ll enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the iconic Ngong Hills. From here, the experience deepens as we visit a traditional Masai village. You’ll be welcomed for an authentic cultural interaction: sharing coffee, stories, and gaining insight into the rich heritage and daily life of the Masai community. We then ride to the famous Olepolos Country Club, where a hearty Maasai-style Nyama choma (roasted goat) lunch awaits. This is one of the most iconic culinary experiences in Kenya. After lunch, the adventure continues on a smooth dirt track as we ascend to the Ngong Hills, reaching one of the highest points around Nairobi at approximately 2,480 meters above sea level. Here, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of Nairobi “city under the sun” and a refreshing breeze that makes the climb worthwhile. The return leg takes us through scenic countryside, descending via Kimuka and riding through the lush Kibiko Forest, offering a relaxed and picturesque end to the journey.

Motorbikes

During this tour, you will ride a Kibo 250cc motorcycle. If you choose the Easy Rider tour option, the local guide will also ride a Kibo 250cc motorcycle with you on the back of the motorbike.

Climate

Rainy months in Kenya are April, May and November. However, because of its diversity in landscape, the weather could be different any day of the tour, regardless of season. So, there is really no bad time to go to Kenya. The temperature is virtually the same all year round - between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius, depending on altitude, of course. It can be cold in the evenings.

Clothing

Compulsory items to bring are a helmet, motorcycle jacket with protection, gloves, a good strong pair of (motorcycle) trousers with protection or separate knee armour, and sturdy high (mountain) boots. Furthermore, we recommend bringing a good pair of sunglasses, lip balm and sunscreen, as well as a helmet with visor or a good pair of glasses that also protects against the dust on unpaved roads. Insurance

The motorcycles have a basic, compulsory third-party liability insurance. However, since most countries in Africa are not used to the concept of insurance, things often in the first place need to be solved on the spot in the first place.
